Humans In The Machine:

A business for challengers.

Despite 305 million new businesses launching worldwide each year, the gap with corporate giants is growing. To help businesses of all scales break through their specific barriers to change and realise their future potential, adopting a challenger mindset focuses effort on sustained growth, instead of the pain impeding it.

Start-ups don’t stay-up, too focused on selling-up to realise their true value.

SMEs struggle with resources, vision and skills to make change last.

74% of SMEs lack a digital strategy and roadmap to navigate their future Go-To-Market path. (McKinsey)

Corporate change-makers aren’t able to stay the course.

Businesses need a new consensus between collaboration and independence.

“Cross-functional collaboration yields worse revenue outcomes” (Gartner)

Don’t just collaborate, systemise cooperation.

Don’t measure impact in isolation, recognize intangible and personal impacts through integrated accountability.

Don’t ignore, adopt proven systems for human-centred design and innovation making use of common languages.

“Brands need to move on from effectiveness and solve for influence” (McKinsey)

Don’t stifle difference, embrace independence.

Don’t burden BAU processes, find inflection points to bring teams together and formulate outcomes-based models.

Don’t re-org, re-design to reflect a more nuanced view of contribution and set-out the right degrees of freedom.

A new consensus

Target-state for start-ups, SMEs and MNCs

I founded Humans In The Machine to reflect my passion for helping businesses to succeed alongside a different perspective on change, betterment and mastery, inspired by technology, culture, design, communications and health. I want the HITMXE® method to create more challengers by offering a new model for sustained growth beyond absolute scale.

Over more than two decades I have worked in a variety of agency strategy and corporate roles in Europe and Asia to know first-hand what creates future potential, how to breakdown barriers and the dynamics needed to get experts working together with a challenger mindset.
